Jones & Horan Horological Auctions of Goffstown, NH, is pleased to announce the record-setting close of our Fall Featured Auction. Achieving $1.89M in realized sales, this was the highest grossing sale in the 41-year history of the auction house. Collectors across the globe participated from October 1-22, 2026, bidding on 489 horological, numismatic, and fine collectible lots.

This auction, expertly curated by department directors Tyler St. Gelais and Fred Hansen, showcased an extraordinary breadth of material that spanned continents and centuries. From significant American gold coins to historical timepieces with exceptional provenance and important early English pocket watches, there were several stand-out pieces in each category. We’ve highlighted notable results from this auction below which show the fervent enthusiasm collectors have for rare, original, and meaningful material.

WRISTWATCHES

Lot 110: Girard-Perregaux Gyromatic Observatory Chronometer

This exceptionally well-preserved example in 18K yellow gold included its original inner and outer boxes, original strap/buckle, and an extremely rare original Observatory chronometer certificate. Condition is king, and serious GP collectors took note. Strong bidding carried the hammer price to $40,000, quadruple the high estimate..

Estimate: $6,000 - $10,000 Price Realized: $40,000 Click to View

Lot 102: Patek Philippe Ref. 2466 This 2466 was another 18K piece in exceptional condition for the reference, driving the closing price nearly three times high estimate. The distinctive angled lugs of this example were sharp and unmolested, demonstrating the lasting appeal of unpolished mid-century models from Patek Philippe.

Estimate: $9,000 - $14,000 Price Realized: $35,000

Lot 97: Rolex Anti-Magnetic Chronograph Ref. 6234

The type of barn find most collectors dream about, this 6234 was found resting on a garage workbench among tools and car parts. Featuring its original cream dial and lightly polished case, the watch offered a rare opportunity to acquire a vintage Rolex with an incredible story.

Estimate: $20,000 - $40,000 Price Realized: $29,000

Lot 101: Longines Lindbergh Hour Angle

This early Lindbergh Hour Angle was especially attractive to collectors due to its original dial and overall excellent condition. With the 100th anniversary of Lindbergh’s solo transatlantic flight coming in 2027, there is renewed interest in these historically significant models from Longines.

Estimate: $14,000 - $26,000 Price Realized: $21,000 Click to View

POCKET WATCHES

Lot 135: Albert H. Potter Geneva Minute Repeater with Chronograph

The largest sale of the auction was an extraordinary Albert H. Potter Geneva minute repeater with chronograph in a heavy 18K gold case. The watch featured Jürgensen-style lips, a glazed movement observation cover, and a beautifully finished lever movement with notable anglage. Its engraved presentation inscription, “J.H. Barker, from Mother,” added a personal dimension to an already exceptional timepiece.

The watch's original owner, John H. Barker (1844–1910), was a prominent American industrialist and philanthropist who served as president of the Haskell & Barker Car Company, one of the country's largest railroad freight-car manufacturers. Combining high-grade Swiss watchmaking, an impressive complication, and documented historical context, this lot sold for over three times high estimate.

Estimate: $15,000 - $25,000 Price Realized: $80,000 Click to View

Lot 136: Albert H. Potter Geneva Model No. 14

Another exceptional Albert H. Potter was offered with equally as impressive results. This watch featured an unusual plate design unlike Potter's typical production, with a striped nickel damascene pattern across the balance cock and stepped portion of the main plate. Its visually striking architecture suggests the possibility of a unique prototype exploring an alternative movement design. This model closed at over three times high estimate.

Estimate: $5,000 - $10,000 Price Realized: $34,000 Click to View

Lot 169: John Ellicott London Verge Fusee with Enamel Chatelaine

A stunning John Ellicott in 22K gold with rich blue guilloché enamel work is another piece that did nearly triple the high estimate. With a matching enamel chatelaine, collectors bid enthusiastically to try and be the one to take home a watch that exemplifies the marriage of artistry and horology.

Estimate: $6,000 - $12,000 Price Realized: $35,000 Click to View

COINS

Lot 1: 1907 Augustus Saint-Gaudens $20 Gold, High Relief, Flat Rim, PCGS MS62+

A highlight of the numismatic offerings was a spectacular 1907 Saint-Gaudens $20 gold piece in high relief, the scarcer flat-rim variety, graded PCGS MS62+. Widely regarded as one of the greatest achievements in American coin design, the original high-relief issue reflects President Theodore Roosevelt's ambition to elevate the artistry of U.S. coinage through the work of sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Estimate: $24,000 - $28,000 Price Realized: $37,000
