Bidding in Our Auctions:

Online Auctions

Click here to browse and bid in our online auctions.

Bidders may place the next bid increment on any lot, or submit their highest bid for a specific lot; if you opt to enter your maximum bid, our system will automatically bid on your behalf only enough to outbid the next highest bidder. Other users cannot see what your high bid is, unless you get bid up to that amount.

Once an Online Auction hits $1,000, all bids are placed in $100 increments.

Retract or Alter Bids
If you wish to lower or retract a bid, please contact our office at auctions@jones-horan.com or (603) 623-5314 (during business hours). Jones & Horan cannot guarantee that requests to retract or modify bids will be received and processed in time. In the event such a request cannot be fulfilled prior to the close of bidding, all bids placed remain binding, and bidders are required to honor their bids. Only Jones & Horan auctioneers can lower or remove bids.

Bidding Deadline:
Up until the closing date and time of the current online auction.
Lot 1 closes at 1 pm EST sharp, and all lots follow thereafter with 30 seconds between each, in timed auction style. We do not use "soft close." All lots will end exactly 30 seconds apart.

Placing Bids During the Final Moments of an Auction:
Make sure to click on the Live Catalog button to access a special tile-based view that becomes available within 30 minutes of the end of the first closing lot. In this view, tiles receive real-time updates without the need to refresh your page, and include countdowns for each lot, new bids & bid amounts, and your bidder status (winning in green/losing in red).

Featured Auctions:

Click here to browse and bid in our Featured Auction.

Bidders may place the next bid increment on any lot, or submit their highest bid for a specific lot; if you opt to enter your maximum bid, our system will automatically bid on your behalf only enough to outbid the next highest bidder. Users cannot outbid themselves in our Featured Auctions, so if you’d like to increase your max bid, you must place a bid that is at least two increments higher than your current bid. Other users cannot see what your high bid is, unless you get bid up to that amount.

Featured Auctions follow these bidding increments:

  • $10 to $200: $10 increments

  • $201 to $500: $25 increments

  • $501 to $1,000: $50 increments

  • $1,001 to $10,000: $100 increments

  • $10,001 to $20,000: $250 increments

  • $20,001 to $50,000: $1,000 increments

  • $50,001 to $100,000: $2,500 increments

  • Over $100,000: $5,000 increments

Retract or Alter Bids:
If you wish to lower or retract a bid, please contact our office at auctions@jones-horan.com or (603) 623-5314 (during business hours). Jones & Horan cannot guarantee that requests to retract or modify bids will be received and processed in time. In the event such a request cannot be fulfilled prior to the close of bidding, all bids placed remain binding, and bidders are required to honor their bids. Only Jones & Horan auctioneers can lower or remove bids.

Bidding Deadline & Closing Process:
Lot 1 begins closing at 11:00 AM EST using a proctored (“soft”) close. Bidding on each lot will be extended by the auctioneer if additional bids are placed in the final moments, with a fair warning notification in the moments before close. When a lot enters closing, the system will accept incremental bids only; automatic max bidding will no longer be managed for that lot.

Live Catalog:
A live, tile-based catalog view becomes available approximately 30 minutes prior to the close of the first lot. This interface provides real-time updates without requiring page refresh, including current bids, bid amounts, and your bidder status (winning in green / losing in red).

Absentee/Telephone Bidding Options:
Featured Auctions allow for absentee and telephone bidding. Phone bidding is only available on select lots. To take advantage of these methods, users must register before the deadline on the last Friday before the week of auction close. We recommend you to subscribe our newsletter to ensure you receive notifications about how to register for absentee or telephone bidding.

Outages:
The Jones & Horan Auction Team takes preventive measures to ensure there are no disruptions to the closing of a Featured Auction. However, if our systems lose power or internet during the live auction, we will send a message to all users via the chat window in our auction platform with updates on when the auction will resume. In case of outage, there will be a grace period for users to get back to their device before our auctioneer resumes the proctored close.

All bidding is governed by Jones & Horan's terms and conditions.
