March 27, 2026 | Eric Goldfisher

Now that Spring has officially sprung, Jones & Horan has plenty of gems ready for you to show off as we roll back into short sleeve weather. In-house experts Tyler St. Gelais and Fred Hansen have combed through the new Timeless Treasures auction to share their top pics when it comes to pocket watches, wristwatches, and more. See something you like? Bidding is open from March 26 through April 2, 2026; as always, the first lots start to close at 1PM ET, so make sure you've stretched your hand muscles, have a good beverage at the ready, and are ready to click BID when your favorite lots start their countdown timers.

Top Picks from Tyler St. Gelais, Head of Wristwatches & Jewelry

My favorite thing about our online auctions is being able to find rare pieces at prices that usually won't break the bank. My top three pics are all obscure or hard-to-find models with estimates that are surprisingly affordable for each of their respective brands.

Lot 44 | Rolex Oyster Perpetual "Zephyr", ref 1038, circa 1970

This late Zephyr model would make an excellent addition to any Rolex collection. This particular example is part of the third (and final) generation with attractive paddle-style hands and a stunning silvered crosshair dial. The textured gold bezel gives it a distinctive, sporty look that stands out from typical Rolex dress models. This example is fitted with a two-tone riveted Oyster bracelet to give the new owner everything they could possibly want from a vintage Rolex.

Lot 46 | Doxa Sub 750T, Clive Cussler Professional Edition, automatic

Doxa lovers take note: this Sub 750T, Clive Cussler Professional Edition is not your standard issue model. Limited to only 5,000 pieces in the mid-2000s, this release pre-dates the brands resurgence from the 2020s and makes it far more collectible than your average SE. This reinterpretation of the original 1967 Doxa Sub dive watch means it's unapologetically large, with a heavy steel case that measures 45mm x 47mm and the iconic beads of rice bracelet that will make you want to slip on your wet suit and take a dive.

Lot 60 | Hamilton Dateline, ref 64046-3, automatic

Hamilton has been a respected brand for over 130 years for good reason - they make something for everyone. From their roots as a pocket watch manufacturer to building WW2 marine chronometers, they've always embraced their enterprising American spirit, even if the brand has been Swiss-made for decades. This Dateline model is a great example of the value you can get from vintage Hamilton. A rare model that wasn't found in American catalogs, it features a round 38mm case size that's borderline modern. The integrated bracelet is unbelievably cool and the dial is in-your-face and makes the watch feel larger since it doesn't have much of a bezel. The best part? We estimate this closing at $400 or less.

Top Picks from Fred Hansen, Head of Pocket Watches

Timeless Treasures has many excellent options available for the pocket watch collector. Whether you’re into American, European, or just overall beautiful pocket watches, I've highlighted a few lots that stand out.

Lot 87 | Illinois, Bunn Special, 21J 60 Hour Type II, w/box and hang tag

Many Illinois Bunn Specials pass through the Jones & Horan auction house, but this one, housed in a beautiful green gold-filled original Bunn Special Model case, goes above and beyond. Included with this lot is an aluminum "Sangamo Special Bunn Special" marked box and Bunn Special 60 Hour hang tag... plus a red service insert regarding the 60 Hour mainspring. A rare package for such a popular model amongst collectors. Don't skip this one, we're not sure when another set this complete will be offered again.

Lot 92 | Seth Thomas, Model 3, 15J, 18S, beautiful gold-filled case

This Seth Thomas has gorgeous, original gold-filled OF case with intricate engraving detail. Our macro shots highlight the stunning work done within the shield to depict a dockside scene that's about the size of a postage stamp. This watch does require an overhaul to get back into running order, but the condition of the movement, dial, and case are all excellent. Well worth the effort, in our opinion.

Lot 110 | J Wilders, triple cased verge fusee, tortoise shell and repoussé

With an impressive triple-cased design featuring an opulent tortoise shell piqué, this J Wilders highlights the stunning artistry of what was possible in European pocket watches. Beauty isn't just skin deep, and the signed silver champlevé dial adds another layer depth with a striking central motif of a nude figure and grotesque mask. Turn it over to see the gilt movement with a verge fusee escapement, making this a triple threat that is sure to delight on all fronts.

Lot 1 | Buffalo Nickel, 1913 - Type 1, PCGS MS66 w/CAC

Collectors looking to add a Buffalo Nickel into their mix need pay attention to this lot. This coin is PCGS MS66 grade with a green CAC sticker, making it a virtually flawless example of a popular coin in its first year of issue.

So, what Timeless Treasures will you be bidding on from this auction? As a reminder, we recommend early registration so there are no delays when placing your bid.
