Top Picks from Tyler St. Gelais, Head of Wristwatches & Jewelry

Lot 64 | Vacheron & Constantin, ref 6506, manual wind in 18K

Among the standout wristwatches in the auction is this elegant Vacheron & Constantin reference 6506. With a lightly-polished 18K yellow gold case and ultra-thin cal. 1003 movement, it exemplifies the refined dress watches that helped define mid-century Swiss luxury. The original silvered dial has aged beautifully over time to a warm champagne tone that complements the case and applied indices. View Lot 64

Lot 66 | Movado Acvatic, manual wind in 14K

Collectors of early "waterproof" wristwatches will appreciate this scarce Movado Acvatic. The scupled 14K François Borgel screw-back case highlights one of the pioneering waterproof designs of the era and features Movado hallmarks to the case side and lugs.

Just as striking is the two-tone salmon and silvered dial, accented by gorgeous applied Breguet-style numerals,

Lot 79 | Illinois Ritz, two-tone manual wind

The Illinois Ritz remains one of the company's most distinctive and collectible Art Deco wristwatch designs. Inspired by the fascination surrounding the discovery of King Tut's tomb in 1922, the model features bold Egyptian-inspired styling that has captivated collectors for nearly 100 years. This example retains the visual flair that makes the Ritz so desirable and is powered by a replacement cal. 601 instead of the original 607, giving savvy collectors a chance to get an iconic design at an exceptional value.

Top Picks from Fred Hansen, Head of Pocket Watches

Lot 111 | Elgin, 17J, 18S, 14K OF case, fancy blue guilloche dial

Pocket watch enthusiasts will find much to admire in this handsome Elgin Grade 336. The substantial 14K gold open-face case features attractive engine-turned decoration and a gold cuvette. The real showstopper is the electric blue guilloché enamel dial that creates a colorful presentation that stands apart from more conventional pocket watch designs of the era.

Lot 129 | Waltham, very low s#5813 w/matching case #, 18S, heavy 18K HC

This is one of the most historically significant offerings in the auction - an exceptionally early Waltham that bears serial number 5813. Factory records show this watch being produced in December of 1857, making it a prime example from the earliest years of American industrial watchmaking. What makes this even more remarkable is the matching serial numbering found on both the movement and the original heavy 18K gold hunting case, rarely seen on Waltham models from this period. A truly extraordinary opportunity for collectors of early American horology.

Lot 135 | Waltham, Canadian Railway Time Service, 17J, 16S, scarce

Railroad watch collectors should take note of this scarce Waltham produced for the Canadian Railway Time Service. Believed to be part of a production run totaling only approximately 550 examples in the 16-size format, the watch represents an elusive chapter in North American railroad timekeeping history. The original Canadian-made Fortune case and distinctive Canadian-market dial featuring 13–24 hour numerals add further interest and collectability.

Lot 152 | F Wuilleumier, rare self-winding watch w/winding indicator, 51mm

Perhaps the most mechanically intriguing watch in the auction is this rare self-winding pocket watch by Swiss maker F. Wuilleumier. Featuring both an automatic winding mechanism and a winding indicator, the watch showcases innovative engineering from an era when self-winding systems were still relatively uncommon. Housed in its original gunmetal case, this fascinating timepiece is the first example of this style by Wuilleumier that Jones & Horan has had the opportunity to offer at auction.
