This set a World Record at the time for the highest sale of an American pocket watch! This record was broken on April 27, 2024 when the auction house Henry Aldridge & Son (located in the United Kingdom) sold the gold pocket watch that was recovered from the body of John Jacob Astor, the richest man on the Titanic, for a record-breaking £1.175m (approximately $1.47 million).
