GOOD NEWS! UPDATE TO SHIPPING POLICY AS OF APRIL 25, 2021:
Due to many issues with the USPS, we are now shipping all packages valued over $300 via FedEx Express. Packages valued at $300 or less will continue to be shipped USPS Priority. (The threshold used to be at $1,000 for whether packages were shipped USPS or FedEx.) We still offer our free, fast, fully insured shipping on packages shipped within the United States, and international destinations will have a shipping cost added to invoices.
Here's how to receive your purchase after payment is made:
In our ongoing effort to make auctions fun and easy for our friends and clients, the majority* of shipping is accomplished in-house here at Jones & Horan!
For most items*, shipping is free within the United States. Occasionally a large or heavy lot will incur a shipping fee, which is noted in detail just before the description.
buyers will incur a shipping fee to ship to their country. We do not charge more than what the shipper charges, so our rates are reasonable! PLEASE NOTE that Jones & Horan will not change the values on shipping statements for overseas Buyers; any statements generated by Jones & Horan will reflect the values achieved at the auction. If desired, we are also happy to ship to a location in the United States for free, but please let us know before making payment so we can adjust your invoice accordingly. We can also ship via DHL upon request; your invoice will be updated to include the higher expense of shipping via DHL. (The cost is often double the amount we pay through FedEx, since we have a long-standing account with FedEx and receive discounts.)
Insurance will always be purchased unless requests to the contrary are received in writing.
There are additional fees to upgrade to one day (overnight) shipping, especially if Saturday delivery is requested. Contact us before making payment to arrange for this upgrade.
If you have a preference as to shipper that differs from our policies (see below), please contact us as soon as possible after receiving notification of your winning bids.
Buyer's Responsibility: It is your responsibility to tell us if you will be traveling or otherwise unable to sign for the delivery, or if you wish to have your purchase shipped to an address other than the one on your invoice. WE WILL ALWAYS SHIP TO THE ADDRESS ON OUR INVOICE UNLESS REQUESTED OTHERWISE BEFORE PAYMENT IS MADE OR IN A NOTE SUBMITTED WITH PAYMENT. THANK YOU!
We always strive to ship as soon as possible after payment as received, usually within 24 hours (except for weekends and U.S. holidays.)
A printout of your paid invoice will be included inside the package, unless you specifically instruct us otherwise before we ship.
*Large items (such as large clocks) will be the responsibility of the buyer and will be indicated as so in the lot description, but Jones & Horan will assist whenever possible. Jones & Horan can recommend a New Hampshire-based shipping company, if needed. IN ORDER FOR JONES & HORAN TO RELEASE YOUR LARGE ITEM TO A THIRD PARTY SHIPPER, PLEASE DOWNLOAD AND COMPLETE OUR Authorized Release Form.
Here is a guideline on shipping carriers used by Jones & Horan:
For auction purchases totaling $300 or under, we ship USPS Priority Mail, insured. Packages valued $200 and over will require a signature. Packages shipped via USPS internationally will be shipped in our own boxes, not USPS's own "priority" boxes.
For auction purchases totaling over $300, we ship FedEx 2nd day
(or FedEx International Priority), insured. A signature is required on all packages.
PLEASE NOTE! FedEx has a free tool on their website where you can create an account and specify things like where to leave packages, when to deliver, etc., including if you would like the package to be held at another site for you to pick up personally, such as a FedEx location, Walgreens, Target, etc.
