Mvt: Running, good winding indicator function, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some typical scattered fine to micro-fine scratches and small surface spots, small bit of finish loss to perimeter of escape wheel bridge; dial with some finish loss which is most notable within and immediately below seconds-register and at perimeter between 12 and 1 and between 5 and 6, some mild fine scratches; nearly mint hands; tub and gimbals in excellent overall condition showing some mild wear, darkening, and areas of finish loss, a circular mark of sticker etching to rear of tub, glass crystal with a long fine to micro-fine scratch at its right side; box shows light wear, some typical scratches, upper surface with spiderweb crackling of its lacquer finish, key is not present and locking function is unknown.

Longines, lever escapement marine chronometer with 8-day winding indicator, mounted in a brass tub and held within a two-tier mahogany case measuring 6 inches x 6 inches x 4 inches, box with brass plaque marked "Longines Chronometer 20 World's Fair Grand Prizes 28 Gold Medal Awards" inside lid, "Longines Chronometer" marked silvered dial of approximately 3 inch diameter, SW-SS, lever escapement with capped escape wheel, likely Guillaume balance wheel, "Chronometer" marked mvt, fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, s#3960290 with the number repeated near the balance on the dial plate as typical of pieces made for submission to observatory time trials.
