Condition Report For Lot# 740:
Mvt: Runs, good balance motion, noticeably out of round and flat, plates show a number of MFS particularly at regulator area, good slots & settings with minor marring to the cock cap, hardly any oxide on bright work, regulator missing its terminus that would act as its own spring; dial has chip, fracture and wax in center above the 50 seconds mark, with associated hls in center and above 7, fleck and hl in WI dial, hl at 6, leaving only the seconds dial undamaged; hands good, light oxide; original case shows medium even wear to brass on highlights & incipient lines on band, numerous MFS, minor ding in back, 60% enamel loss; bow & crown show medium wear, brassing; good glass crystal; the heart of any watch is its balance, vital to the performance of any RR grade timepiece; this balance will have to be trued first so the poise "looks" good, and then poised for timekeeping to see where weight needs to be added or diminished to limit positional error; then the balance will require timing so that the regulator is at the center of the scale when timekeeping is dead on; the regulator arm will need replacement in the process; well worth the effort
Estimate: $450 - $650
