GRO, good verge function, well and heavily cast case in Renaissance Revival style of the 16th century, lacking pendant and ring, nice large size; the Austrians manufactured a good number of Renaissance Revival pieces in the late 19th century, typically using mvts of the 18th century, but this may even be a later production from an English or other artist; there are known modern artists who make cases up as did the Austrians
